English 2 - July and August homework

Dear students,
I hope you are all in good shape and willing to work so that we do not fall behind with our work.

Assigment 1: "The curious incident..."Please read from chapter 181 to chapter 233.
  • Make a brief summary of each chapter.
  • Look up vocabulary
  • Fill in our chart of characterization

Deadline August 5th ( written work)

On August 5th you will be tested on the following chapters: 181, 191, 193, 197, 199.

On August 6th you will be tested on the following chapters: 211,223, 227, 229, 233.

Assignment 2. Deadline July, Wednesday 8th.

Read chapter 149 and answer the following questions.

1.Where did Christopher do some detecting to find his book?

2.What precautions did he take so that his father would not suspect he had been messing with his things?

3.Did Christopher realize his mother was alive, living in London after reading the first letter? Please develop this issue taking these statements into account. "....could easily Leap to the Wrong Conclusions....".... make sure you have all the available clues before you start deducing things."

Chapter 157

A. After reading the letter dated 23rd August, what did Christopher finally understand? How did he react to this new reality? What was his father's reaction?

B. Remember conditional lll ? If + past perfect / would + have+past participle e.g "If Christopher had not hit the policeman, he would not have gone to jail."

Using this conditional, you can write a few sentences about the plot of this novel.

What would /wouldn't have happened if Christopher's father had not killed Wellington?
